Internship Programs

Boca Raton Resort has a reputation for training, built by dynamic, highly motivated and exceptionally well-trained employees. Students in our intern/extern programs are rewarded with rapid personal and professional growth, plus association with world class management. The goal of our intern and extern programs is to provide students from the finest hospitality schools in the world with "hands on" experience in a luxury resort environment. At the Resort, we work with several colleges and universities to facilitate internships/externships. One of the reasons the program continues to be so successful is our customized approach to designing each student's program, in accordance to each school's requirements and the needs of individual students. The program offers on the job training along with educational experience. Each student partakes in a complete and comprehensive orientation program, which includes meeting with their personal mentor to develop their customized training program. Within the externship program, we work closely within the guidelines of each school.

All students must complete their entire program to fulfill the Resort's requirements of the intern/extern program. The success of the program is ultimately up to the individual. We provide the environment, materials and resources for success but it's up to you to make the most of the opportunity.

Interested candidates should complete the application on this website, noting that it is for the intern/extern program, or contact your school's career placement office.

MID Program: Eligibility: Boca Raton Resort Manager-In-Development Program is available to graduate and undergraduate students from American or European hospitality schools. Applicants are interviewed and offered positions based on education, practical experience and Resort need. Training Program Objectives: The key objectives of the MID Program are to introduce the Manager-In-Development to American service standards, culture and world-renown Boca Quality, while utilizing the student's strengths and talents. MIDs are challenged to utilize their American and European hospitality skills and question Resort systems and practices to enhance existing processes. In addition, MIDs are encouraged to apply creative solutions to obstacles that impede exceptional service. Program Components:

* Departments and Length of Training
The MID is exposed to a minimum of three department rotations during the training period. Depending on whether the training is the 12-month undergraduate or the 18-month graduate program, the time spent in each department is approximately three to six months. Some of the departments currently utilizing MIDs include: Housekeeping, Concierge, Front Office, Food & Beverage, Sales and Marketing, Banquets, Private Dining, Retail, Country Club Operations, Club Marketing, Human Resources, Accounting and Culinary.

* Development of Skills
During each department rotation the MID has the opportunity to learn job skills that are imperative for the task completion for the specific department assigned. In addition to job skills, the MID learns management skills that may include the supervision of staff, participation in special projects, development of training manuals or programs, creation of recognition/incentive programs or productivity analysis.

* Evaluation of Performance
MID performance is monitored and evaluated by the specific department heads to which the MID is assigned, as well as members of the Human Resources department, including the Vice President.

* Feedback on MID Program
At the end of the MID training program, a one-on-one exit interview is conducted by Human Resources to gain insight into the MID's perception of his/her training experience. Feedback shared during the exit interview is used to improve the MID program.
