Maintaining Your Workout While On The Road

Feeling stressed out as the holiday season and travel kicks off that you won't be able to keep up with your workout routine? Don't worry, here are some insightful tips from our Health & Wellness Expert.

Don’t let traveling be your excuse for not sticking with your healthy lifestyle.  Jodi Sullivan, Senior Director of Fitness & Wellness at Boca Raton Resort & Club, suggests these three tips for staying healthy on the road:

  • Set realistic goals.  It is important to be bold without being unrealistic. When we set unrealistic goals, we tend to lose motivation.
  • Break your routine.  A great time to experiment with new workouts is when you are on the road and out of your normal routine.  If you always use the treadmill, try the Stairmaster.  By mixing up your routine you will keep your muscles guessing and keep your workout fun!
  • Stay Hydrated: This is possibly the most important tip to remember.  Traveling can cause you to become dehydrated faster than normal.  Make a conscious effort to drink more water on the road.  By staying hydrated, you will replenish your body, flush toxins, and keep you on your game.
